“Conquer Ireland and turn it into an Israeli colony”: Israeli Settlers Launch Incitement Campaign Against Ireland

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Social media platforms have witnessed a widespread incitement campaign by Israeli settlers targeting Ireland, following the country’s position refusing to withdraw peacekeepers from southern Lebanon. Israeli users have incited violence against Ireland for its stance, as well as, outspoken condemnation of Israel’s military offensive, accusing it of supporting ‘terrorism’.

Ireland has refused to withdraw its UN peacekeeping forces from southern Lebanon. Irish President Michael Higgins sharply criticized Israel for pressuring the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) to evacuate positions in Lebanese villages. “It is outrageous that the Israel Defense Forces have threatened this peacekeeping force and sought to have them evacuate the villages they are defending,” Higgins said in a statement. He condemned Israel’s demands for the withdrawal, asserting that it undermined the peacekeeping mission.

The UNIFIL force, which includes Irish troops, rejected Israeli calls to relocate ahead of ground operations in Lebanon. In response to growing tensions, the Irish Defence Forces confirmed that Israeli troops had moved away from their positions near Irish peacekeepers, marking a positive development amid heightened regional tension.

Amid this political tension, Israeli settlers took to social media to incite violence against Ireland, with posts calling for extreme measures. Some comments advocated violent actions, including threats to “flood Ireland with a tsunami”. One post suggested, “We should conquer Ireland and turn it into an Israeli colony to solve our living space issues and eliminate the worst people in the world.”

Matthew RJ Brodsky, a former Trump advisor who previously advised the Trump administration’s Middle East peace team and the White House’s Palestinian-Israeli peace team, said Israel should “drop napalm” over Irish peacekeeping troops in Lebanon, before deleting the post.

Others targeted Ireland’s support for Palestinian rights and its criticism of Israel. One user posted inflammatory remarks, urging the Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) to “fire warning shots to make the Irish leave” and labeled the Irish peacekeepers as “part of the terrorist system in Lebanon.”
