Confirming Hamas announcement, Israel’s army admits killing Israeli prisoners

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- The Israeli military on Monday said that two Israeli prisoners were killed in Gaza months ago, confirming a statement by Hamas that was issued last March.
The Israeli military said that the Israeli prisoners Alex Dancyg and Yagev Buchshtab were killed in Gaza months ago. The army’s statement avoids to detail the circumstances of their deaths, noting that “all possibilities are been investigated,” including that at least one of them was killed by Israeli strikes on the Strip.
Last March, Hamas issued a statement declaring the names of 4 Israeli prisoners, who were killed by the Israeli military’s strikes on Gaza. The names included Alex Dancyg.
“We previously announced the killing of seven Zionist prisoners as a result of the savage Zionist airstrikes on the Gaza Strip and we revealed the names of three of them,” said Abu Ubaida, Al-Qassam Brigades spokesperson, on Telegram.
He added that “after examining and verifying the identities of the remaining four fatalities, it has been confirmed that … Itzik Elgarat, Alex Dancyg, Ronen Angel, and Eliyahu Margalit” were killed.
Israel estimates that as of 8 June 2024, 120 Israeli prisoners remained in Gaza, while it has detained at least 10,000 Palestinians in its prisons.
Israel has waged a deadly military offensive on the Gaza Strip since an Oct. 7, 2023 military operation led by Hamas.
