“Charred Bodies Still Smoking”: Israel Burns at Least 10 Civilians in Strike on Displacement Tents

Gaza (Quds News Network)- At least 10 people burnt alive in a horrific Israeli airstrike on a makeshift displacement camp in Al-Mawasi area. The victims’ remains, largely unrecognizable, were described as “charred bodies still releasing smoke” upon their arrival at hospital.

Witnesses and medical staff described the scene as “horrific,” with bodies still releasing smoke as they arrived at the hospital. Many of the victims were women and children, according to local reports. The attack ignited several tents, trapping families inside and leaving them with little chance of escape.

The victims’ remains, largely unrecognizable, were carried to the hospital, with medics stating that the severity of burns left “charred bodies still releasing smoke” upon their arrival. Among the dead was Mahmoud Ahmed Abu Rous, a 24-year-old man, whose identity was confirmed through documentation. The rest of the victims’ bodies were too badly burned to identify immediately.

The Israeli government has not yet commented on the attack, but the assault is being seen as part of its ongoing genocide in Gaza. Since the resumption of the Israeli attacks in March, Israel has escalated its bombardment across the region, leaving thousands of Palestinians dead and many more injured.

In the last month, over 1,600 Palestinians have been killed in Israeli airstrikes, with more than 4,300 others injured, according to the Ministry of Health. The Israeli military had previously claimed to be targeting Hamas positions, but the latest civilian casualties suggest deliberate targeting of civilians.

The attack in Al-Mawasi is just one of many recent crimes where Israel’s aerial assaults have destroyed civilian infrastructure, leaving entire families with no shelter or safety. Human rights organizations have condemned the strikes as violations of international law and called for accountability.
