Charlie Kirk’s Challenge to Israel’s Grip on Trump Administration Provoked Anger and Anxiety Before His Death, Report

Utah  (Quds News Network)- In the weeks before his assassination, conservative leader Charlie Kirk reportedly shifted his stance on Israel’s influence in Washington and was ‘frightened’ by pro-Israel forces. A longtime friend and Trump insider told The Grayzone that Kirk’s position provoked private backlash from allies of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The source, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said Kirk rejected an offer from Netanyahu earlier this year. The Israeli leader had proposed a major new infusion of Zionist money into Kirk’s organization, Turning Point USA (TPUSA), America’s largest conservative youth group.

Kirk believed the offer was meant to silence him. He had begun publicly questioning Israel’s sway in US politics and demanded more space to criticize it.

According to the source, Kirk came to loathe Netanyahu in the weeks before his death. He reportedly regarded the Israeli leader as a “bully.” Kirk also expressed disgust at Netanyahu’s influence within the Trump administration, including attempts to direct presidential personnel decisions and leverage billionaire donors like Miriam Adelson to control the White House.

In June, Kirk warned US President Donald Trump against bombing Iran on Israel’s behalf. “Charlie was the only person who did that,” the source said. Trump reportedly “barked at him” and shut down the conversation. Kirk reportedly interpreted the incident as evidence that Trump had fallen under a “malign foreign power” and was leading the US into dangerous conflicts.

By July, Kirk faced a private campaign of intimidation from wealthy allies of Netanyahu. The source said Kirk was frightened by the pressure.

Kirk founded TPUSA in 2012 at age 18. The organization’s growth relied heavily on Zionist donors, who funded his group through neoconservative channels like the David Horowitz Freedom Center. In return, Kirk delivered consistent pro-Israel messaging, anti-Palestinian, anti-Islam rhetoric, and support for neoconservative policies.

However, Israel’s genocide in Gaza sparked a backlash within right-wing grassroots circles. Only 24% of younger Republicans now support Israel over the Palestinians. Kirk began to shift his stance. While sometimes toeing the Israeli line, he also entertained questions from his base about Epstein, Israel’s role in the October 7 resistance operation, and the influence of Zionist billionaires.

In July, TPUSA’s Student Action Summit offered a platform for speakers critical of Israel, including Tucker Carlson, Megyn Kelly, and anti-Zionist Jewish comedian Dave Smith. The event featured denunciations of Israel’s Gaza campaign and taunts toward wealthy Zionist figures.

Following the summit, Kirk received dozens of angry texts and calls from donors tied to Netanyahu. The friend said the messages “drove him crazy” and left him “frightened.”

In interviews, Kirk expressed outrage over the harassment. He told Megyn Kelly that powerful figures were dictating what he could and could not say about Israel. “I have less ability… to criticize the Israeli government than actual Israelis do,” he said.

Kirk also spoke to Ben Shapiro about media censorship of Israel critics. On September 9, he questioned whether the media presented the truth on Israel, asking: “Just a question!”

The source said Kirk’s resentment toward Netanyahu spread inside Trump’s inner circle. Officials reportedly became anxious after alleged Israeli spying incidents surfaced, including devices found on US emergency vehicles.

Former UK Prime Minister Boris Johnson recounted a similar incident, describing a listening device found near his residence after using Netanyahu’s private bathroom.

Kirk was killed by a single sniper shot while speaking at Utah State University. The alleged assassin, a 22-year-old Utah resident, has been taken into custody. Authorities have not released a motive, and there is no verified evidence linking Israel to the killing.

Despite this, speculation surged online. Thousands suggested Kirk’s shift on Israel contributed to his death. Social media posts accused pro-Israel forces of involvement.

Netanyahu publicly denied any role in the assassination. He praised Kirk after his death and framed his legacy as pro-Israel. In multiple interviews, the Israeli Prime Minister implied “radical Islamists” and “ultra-progressives” were responsible, without providing evidence.
