Calls to remove Greek Orthodox Patriarch Theophilos III

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Central Orthodox Council in Palestine called to remove Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem, Theophilos III, and withdraw the recognition of him.
The council called on Palestinian officials as well as the public to refrain from receiving the Greek Orthodox Patriarch of Jerusalem due to his ongoing effort to compromise the endowments of the Orthodox Church in Palestine.
The council said Theophilos III “came with another deal to turn buildings in Mar Ilias in occupied Beit Jala into a hotel, supervised by an unknown Cyprian firm that also has construction work with an Israeli firm, involved in selling endowments to the Israelis.”
It added that those, who are involved in such deals, are corrupted and do not respect the history and status of Bethlehem, rather they prefer to be property dealers.
“They do not deserve to be received as religious leaders, and they do not deserve to be welcomed”, it added.
