Calls to boycott Justin Bieber following apartheid Israel tour plan

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Human rights and anti-apartheid activists called for boycotting the Canadian singer Justin Bieber after announcing that his Justice World Tour will be stopping over in apartheid Israel after his two South Africa shows.

The 27-year-old star is set to perform on October 22, 2022 in the occupation state following two performances in Cape Town and Johannesburg as part of the Justice World Tour.

Anti-apartheid activists, especially in South Africa, called for boycotting the singer, stressing that his show is anything but “justice”, considering his next stop after South Africa is apartheid Israel.

Justin Bieber has been accused of inadvertently supporting an apartheid state by agreeing to perform in Tel Aviv.

Code Pink started a petition calling the singer to cancel his show in the occupation state.

“When you released your album Justice, faced criticism for using samples of Dr. Martin Luther King in the album’s songs”, the petition stated.

“You responded to the criticism by listening and learning and admitting that you “just didn’t know better” and you hadn’t received an education in Black history during your upbringing. “I want to keep growing and learning about just all social injustices and what it looks like for me to be better,” you said. We hope you learn about the crimes Israel commits against the Palestinian people and follow the teachings of Dr. Martin Luther King to stand with the oppressed.”
