Burj Khalifa lights up for Hanukkah celebrations

Dubai’s Burj Khalifa lit up on Thursday evening to mark the celebration of the first night of Hanukkah in the United Arab Emirates.
“You are witnessing Jewish history,” Israeli singer Yishai Lapidot said as he performed for the audience during the candle lighting.
Hanukkah, which is also known as the Festival of light, is celebrated by Jewish people around the world for eight nights.
The event was hosted by Rabbi Levi Duchman of the UAE, who has been hosting Hanukkah in Dubai for the past six years.

âThe message behind Hanukkah is to spread light over darkness. And I see the UAE as the brightest light in this region,â Rabbi Duchman told Gulf News on Wednesday.
Such celebrations and events come after the UAE normalized ties with ‘Israel’ making it the first Arab country to do so.
