British Airways Halts Sponsorship of Louis Theroux Podcast After Interview With Bobby Vylan

London (QNN)- British Airways has suspended its sponsorship of Louis Theroux’s podcast after an episode featuring Bob Vylan’s frontman, Bobby Vylan, sparked Israeli outrage.

The airline claimed that the episode violated its sponsorship policy on politically sensitive or controversial content. “Our sponsorship of the series has now been paused and the advert has been removed,” a spokesperson told PA Media.

In the episode, recorded on October 1, Bobby Vylan (real name Pascal Robinson-Foster) defended leading chants of “death, death to the IDF” during his Glastonbury performance earlier this year. The chant quickly spread across global protests against the Gaza genocide.

When Theroux asked if he regretted the chant, Vylan replied: “Oh yeah. Like what if I was to go on Glastonbury again tomorrow, yes I would do it again. I’m not regretful of it. I’d do it again tomorrow, twice on Sundays.”

He added that his actions were a form of solidarity with Palestinians. “It’s minimal compared to what people in Palestine are going through,” he said. “If that can be my contribution… if I can have my Palestinian friends say: ‘Your chant gave me a breath of fresh air,’ then what is there to regret?”

British Airways said it was unaware of the remarks before the episode aired. “We’re grateful that this was brought to our attention,” the spokesperson said.

The company also confirmed that its media agency was reviewing how the episode passed through its vetting process.

Following the Glastonbury performance, Bob Vylan was subjected to an Israeli incitement campaign. The band postponed two UK shows, including one in Manchester, after Israeli pressure on British officials.

Vylan said he saw no reason to apologize. “I’m being vocal for people in Palestine,” he told Theroux. “What is there to regret? Because I’ve upset some right-wing politician or some right-wing media?”
