UPDATE: Nine Palestinians killed by Israeli forces in brutal assault on Nablus

Nablus (QNN)- Nine Palestinians, including an elderly man, were killed this afternoon and about 100 others injured by Israeli occupation forces during a brutal assault on the northern occupied West Bank city of Nablus.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that Adnan Saabe Baara, 72, Abdul Hadi Abdul Aziz Ashqar, 61, Mohammad Farid Shaaban, 16, Tamer Nimr Minawi, 33, Mohammad Khaled Anbousi, 25, Musab Munir Awais, 26, Hussam Bassam Isleem, 24, and Mohammad Abdul Fattah Abdul Ghani, 23, and Walid Riyad Dkhail, 23, were killed by Israeli gunfire while at least 101 others got injured by Israeli live bullets, six said to be in critical condition. Two journalists were lightly injured by live bullets while covering Israel’s brutal assault.

Local sources reported that a large number of Israeli occupation forces raided the Old City of Nablus at around 10 am local time and besieged a house where two wanted Palestinian youths were inside. The two were Isleem and Abu Baker, who are reportedly members of the resistance group the Lions’ Den, and they were both killed as they refused to surrender.

Residents confronted the Israeli soldiers as the latter fired live bullets, tear gas and sound bombs at the houses and shops, causing many suffocation cases, most of them children and women.

Sources added that Israeli forces fired missiles at the targeted building and snipers were seen stationed in the surrounding area. A military helicopter was also spotted flying over the city.

The Red Crescent in Nablus said the Israeli forces prevented its ambulances from reaching and evacuating the wounded in the old city.
