Breaking| Miss SA denies decision not to take part in Miss Universe pageant in ‘Israel’

Cape Town (QNN)- Miss South Africa organization has denied reports that Miss South Africa, Lalela Mswane, withdrew her participation in the Miss Universe Pageant, which will be held next month in ‘Eilat, an Israeli city built on the ruins of displaced Palestinian villages.

Africa For Palestine had reported that it was reliably informed that Miss South Africa is withdrawing participation from the controversial Israel-hosted Miss Universe Pageant.

A statement has been issued a few hours later by Stephanie Weil, CEO of the Miss South Africa organization, on behalf of Lalela Mswane, denying the reports.

According to the statement, Weil said the reports were “completely unfounded and untrue”, stressing that Mswane will take part in the pageant in the apartheid state.

She added that “her organisation was also thrilled to be able to make Lalela’s childhood dream – to wear the crown while representing her country globally – come true.”
