Breaking| Following IPS crackdown on female detainees… Stabbing attack against Israeli jailer

Ramallah (QNN)- The Detainees’ Information Bureau said that a detainee had stabbed an Israeli jailer in Nafha desert prison. The attack comes only one day after detainees warned of retaliation to an Israeli crackdown on female detainees.
“Great tension and high alert among detainees are prevailing in all Israeli prisons”, a press release by the bureau stated. It noted that large numbers of Israeli forces are heading towards Nafha prison.
The bureau also warned of a new wave of systematic reppressive measures against detainees and stated that the stabbing attack comes in retaliation against the Israeli Prison Service (IPS), which has been carrying out a vicious attack on female detainees.
The Detainees Committee held the Israeli authorities responsible for any deterioration in the situation, especially that Israeli repression units are reportedly preparing to storm Nafha prison.
Yesterday, the Palestinian Detainees Association said that the Israeli Prison Service (IPS) assaulted and severely beat female prisoners and isolated three of them.
It added that according to certain information, the IPS cut the power off, removed Hijabs of hijabi detainees, and used tear gas against the detainees. It also denied them visitations and prevented them from using the prison canteen. The detainees, in returned their meals and knocked on the cells’ doors in protest against the Israeli repression.
Resistance factions said that what was committed against female detainees in Israeli prisons is a heinous crime and a blatant violation, stressing that “those violations will not go unpunished.”
