Brother of Zakaria Zubeidi dies of injuries sustained from Israeli gunfire in Jenin
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- 40-year-old Dauod Zubeidi, brother of Palestinian detainee in Israeli prisons and one of Gilbou’s six breakers, Zakaria Zubeidi, died today of injuries sustained during an Israeli military raid two days ago in Jenin refugee camp in occupied West Bank.
Local sources reported that Dauod, who was evacuated to the Rambam Medical Center in the occupied city of Haifa following a deterioration in his condition after being shot with an Israeli live bullet to his abdomen on Friday, succumbed to his injuries today.
Daoud was reportedly among 13 Palestinians injured Friday by Israeli forces near and in the city of Jenin.
That day, the Israeli forces surrounded a Palestinian house in Jenin's refugee camp and targeted it with a short-range missile in an attempt to arrest two Palestinian freedom fighters inside.
This ended with Israeli forces arresting the two young brothers, identified as Mahmoud and Anas al-Dabai.
Footage shared by residents, and confirmed by sources, showed Israeli forces firing the short-range Energa anti-tank rifle grenade at their house, setting it ablaze when the missile struck the upper section of the building.
A dog initially thought to be wearing a military vest and sent into the house by Israeli forces, was seen to be on fire. It was later confirmed that it was a pet dog that belonged to the family. It died in the fire.
The Israeli raid came only two days after an Israeli sniper shot and killed Al Jazeera’s reporter Shereen Abu Aqleh while she was covering an Israeli military raid into the Jenin refugee camp despite wearing a press vest.
Three Palestinians were killed in an Israeli strike targeting a vehicle in central Gaza on Thursday, including two civil defense workers, in another breach of the so-called ceasefire agreement amid continued daily attacks.
Israeli soldiers have been looting large amounts of civilian property from homes and businesses in southern Lebanon during the recent assault, according to a Haaretz report. The looting is widespread among Israeli forces, with similar incidents previously reported in Syria, Gaza, and during the previous assault in Lebanon.
An Israeli airstrike near a mosque in the northern Gaza Strip killed five Palestinians, including three children, on Wednesday, amid ongoing daily Israeli attacks and reported violations of the so-called ceasefire.
