Boris Johnson says bugging device found in his bathroom after Netanyahu visit

London (Quds News Network)- A bugging device was found in Boris Johnson’s bathroom after a visit by Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu when he was foreign secretary in 2017, the former prime minister said.

Johnson stated that his security team had made the discovery when they did a sweep of the toilets after the Israeli premier had used them during a meeting in 2017.

Writing in his memoir, “Unleashed”, which was shared with the Telegraph newspaper, the former Tory MP said Netanyahu had excused himself during talks at his old office to use the washroom, described as “a secret annex… a bit like the gents in a posh London club.”

“Thither Bibi repaired for a while, and it may or may not be a coincidence but I am told that later, when they were doing a regular sweep for bugs, they found a listening device in the thunderbox,” Johnson said, using a British word to describe a toilet.

The Telegraph noted that it was unclear whether the Israeli occupation government was confronted about the incident.

When The Telegraph asked Johnson for more details, he replied: “I think everything you need to know about that episode is in the book.”

There had been similar reports around that time accusing Israel of bugging the White House.

In 2019, Netanyahu denied a report that Israel planted devices near the Trump White House and said Israeli officials had not spied on the U.S.
