Birth and Death, Ali celebrates birthday in heaven

The fourth of December, 2020, is the day when Israeli occupation forces shot dead Ali Abu-Alayya, 13-year-old Palestinian child from the occupied West Bank.
However, Ali was robbed of his life on the same day in which he was born.
Instead of celebrating his birthday and bringing a cake and candles, his family brought his coffin.
Instead of bringing gifts for Ali on his birthday, his friends were crying during his funeral.
Ali was shot last Friday with live ammunition in clashes in the village of al-Mughayir, near the city of Ramallah in the occupied West Bank. Ali was taken to Palestine Medical Complex in Ramallah and immediately placed for surgery. However, attempts at resuscitation all failed and the child was pronounced dead.
The UN, EU, and officials have condemned the killing of Ali, calling Israel for investigating this “shocking incident.”
Extending our heartfelt condolences to Ali's parents and family. This shocking incident must be swiftly and fully investigated by the Israeli authorities in order to bring the perpetrators to justice. 2/2

Appalled by the killing of a 15 year old #Palestinian boy, Ali Abu Alaya, near #Ramallah today. #Israel must swiftly and independtly investigate this shocking and unacceptable incident. Children enjoy special protection under international law and must be protected from violence.

This thirteen year old Palestinian boy, Ali Abu Alia, was murdered by the Israeli army today in the village of Al-Mughayyir, West Bank. Inexcusable, as it always is, and all too familiar a story. pic.twitter.com/0jBW9pvkBR

Palestinians said they are familiar with such incidents; Israeli forces commit shocking crimes nearly everyday. They condemned Arab countries’ normalization with ‘Israel’, saying that these relations with the occupation give it the permission to kill in cold blood while the world watches idly as hundreds of children die.
Ali is the fifth Palestinian child from the West Bank killed by Israeli forces with live ammunition this year.
In October, Amer Abdel-Rahim Snobar, 16, was beaten and killed by Israeli occupation forces near the occupied West Bank village of Turmus’ayya. An autopsy found that he likely died from asphyxiation as a result of strangulation, according to information collected by DCIP.
“Israeli forces routinely violate international law by using lethal force against Palestinian children without justification,” said Ayed Abu Eqtaish, Accountability Program director at DCIP.
“Like nearly every other case involving Israeli forces’ unlawful killing of Palestinian children, systemic impunity as the norm ensures that the perpetrator responsible will never be held accountable by Israeli authorities.”
According to DCIP, since 2000, 2119 Palestinian child was killed by Israeli occupation forces in the occupied Palestinian territory.
Since 2005, six major military offensives in Gaza by Israel have killed at least 1,000 Palestinian children, as DCIP reported.
In 2019, Israeli occupation forces killed 133 Palestinians, including 28 minors. Of the casualties, 104 were killed in the Gaza Strip and 26 in the West Bank, according to B’tselem.
