Biden steps aside in 2024 presidential race
Washington DC (Quds News Network)- US President Joe Biden has officially announced his decision to step down from the 2024 presidential race, marking a historic event.
Biden posted on his account on X: “I believe it is in the best interest of my party and the country for me to stand down and to focus solely on fulfilling my duties as President for the remainder of my term.”
He has not said if he endorses Vice President Kamala Harris.
Several Democrats has pressured Biden to step aside following repeated mistakes and declining popularity.
Biden lost much of his popularity due to his unlimited support for the occupation state of Israel and being directly involved in the genocide against the Palestinian people in Gaza.
An ABC News/Ipsos poll released Sunday found that 60% of Democrats believe Biden should end his presidential bid, though 58% would feel satisfied if he were the nominee. Overall, only about a third of Americans would feel satisfied if Biden were the nominee.
