Biden Defends Foreign Policy Legacy, Calls It a ‘Success’
Washington (Quds News Network)- Outgoing US President Joe Biden defended his foreign policy on Monday, defending his administration’s complicity in the genocide in Gaza. He claimed that the US strengthened its position globally while countering threats to Israel and maintaining alliances in the region.
In his speech, Biden stressed US support for Israel amid the genocide in Gaza and Israel’s assaults against neighboring countries. He said Iranian attacks against Israel had failed because “we mobilized nations to confront them.” Biden also claimed that his administration protected Israeli and US ships in the Red Sea from Houthi attacks, with over 20 countries joining the coalition.
On Gaza, Biden avoided direct criticism of Israeli crimes, but reiterated his support for Israel’s genocide. He emphasized that US-made weapons and funding have played a crucial role in Israel’s operations, despite growing international condemnation of civilian casualties in Gaza.
Biden defended the US approach to the region, arguing that alliances with Middle Eastern partners remain strong. He praised efforts to counter Iran’s influence and pledged ongoing support for Israel’s security.
As Biden prepares to leave office on January 20, his foreign policy legacy in the Middle East remains deeply criticized, especially regarding his unwavering support for Israel during its genocide in Gaza.
