Biden consoles Muslims on Gaza as he continues to arm and safeguard Israel

Washington DC (Quds News Network) – U.S. President Joe Biden congratulated Muslims on Monday on the occasion of the holy month of Ramadan and expressed his condolences for the harrowing suffering of the people of the Gaza Strip due to the ongoing Israeli war since October 7th of last year.

This comes simultaneously as Biden continues to provide the strongest military, intelligence, and diplomatic support to Israel. His administration persists in supplying weapons to Israel and has exercised the veto three times against UN Security Council resolutions calling for a ceasefire in Gaza.

“Tonight—as the new crescent moon marks the beginning of the Islamic holy month of Ramadan—Jill and I extend our best wishes and prayers to Muslims across our country and around the world,” Biden wrote in the statement Sunday.

“The sacred month is a time for reflection and renewal. This year, it comes at a moment of immense pain. The war in Gaza has inflicted terrible suffering on the Palestinian people,” he added.

As a result of the war, nearly 700,000 Palestinians in the northern Gaza Strip are now facing a famine that has claimed the lives of children and the elderly in recent days. The famine coincides with severe shortages in food, water, medicine, and fuel supplies in the region.

“As Muslims gather around the world over the coming days and weeks to break their fast, the suffering of the Palestinian people will be front of mind for many. It is front of mind for me,” said the U.S. president.
