Bethlehem stages general strike in mourning of 15-year-old Palestinian killed by Israeli forces

Bethlehem (QNN)- A one-day general strike was observed in the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem on Saturday, in mourning of Israel’s killing of 15-year-old Palestinian Zaid Mohammad Ghuneim last night in the Al-Khader village.

Ghuneim was shot dead by Israeli forces on Friday evening in the Al-Khader village, south of the occupied West Bank city of Bethlehem.

The Palestinian Ministry of Health confirmed that Ghuneim was critically injured after being shot by Israeli live bullets in the back and neck.

The child was rushed to a hospital to get urgent medical treatment. However, he died of his wounds moments after.

Local sources and eyewitnesses reported that the 15-year-old child was killed by the Israeli forces in cold blood as he was surprised by their presence in the village and tried to hide in a parking garage before he was targeted by the Israeli live bullets.

Ghuneim is the 13th Palestinian child killed by Israeli forces since the start of 2022, according to Defense for Children- Palestine (DCIP).

On Saturday, Israeli forces killed 17-year-old Palestinian Amjad al-Fayed during a military raid into the Jenin refugee camp as they shot him in the neck and chest.

On Wednesday, Israeli forces killed 16-year-old Palestinian Ghaith Yameen in the vicinity of Joseph’s Tomb in the occupied West Bank city of Nablus after shooting him in the head.
