Ben-Gvir Says Former Hostage Eli Sharabi is “Echoing Hamas Propaganda” Over Imprisonment Testimony

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Former Israeli National Security Minister Itamar Ben-Gvir accused former prisoner Eli Sharabi of “echoing Hamas propaganda” after Sharabi testified on his imprisonment.
During an interview with Israel’s Channel 12, Sharabi stated that Hamas increased restrictions on Israeli prisoners whenever Israel escalated torture against Palestinian detainees. He directly linked his suffering in imprisonment to Ben-Gvir’s decision to worsen prison conditions for Palestinian detainees.
Ben-Gvir responded with outrage. Speaking to Channel 13, he said, “I am proud of my actions” and refused to apologize. He accused Israeli media of justifying Hamas’ actions and dismissed the idea that his policies had any impact on Israeli prisoner treatment. Instead, he accused Sharabi of “echoing Hamas propaganda.”
Since taking office, Ben-Gvir has pushed for harsher conditions for Palestinian detainees. He has repeatedly called for the death penalty for Palestinians and insisted they receive only the bare minimum of food and water needed to survive.
Videos have surfaced showing Israeli forces torturing Palestinian detainees in the presence of Ben-Gvir. Reports confirm detainees have faced starvation, medical neglect, and severe mistreatment, especially after October 7, 2023. The Palestinian Prisoners’ Club estimates that over 11,100 Palestinians have been detained since then.
