Bella Hadid declares love for Palestine on Doha trip
Doha (QNN)- Dutch-Palestinian supermodel Bella Hadid has expressed her love for Palestine and Qatar after visiting a Palestinian embroidery show in Doha on Tuesday.
The 26-year-old daughter of Palestinian real-estate developer Mohamed Hadid and Dutch model Yolanda Hadid visited Qatar on Tuesday to attend the Embroidering Palestinian History event which showcased the history of Palestinian embroidery, known as ‘tatreez’.
“Landed in Doha and went straight to see the incredible new Palestine exhibition, ‘Labour of Love'”, Bella announced with a slide of photos of the exhibition, including one of herself and her father Mohammed Hadid.
The model was wearing a red overall dress and a Palestinian kuffiyeh headdress.
‘Labour of Love: Embroidering Palestinian History Exhibition’ is a Palestinian Museum travelling exhibition which runs until January 28, 2023 at Katara Gallery 10.
Bella added, “Embroidering Palestinian History will take visitors on a journey of discovery of tatreez embroidery as woven into the social, economic, and political fabric of Palestinian society, through different historical periods.”
“This show brought tears to my eyes and even more pride for my beautiful Palestinian roots and people. I love you Qatar and I love you Palestine!”
She also visited the opening night of Qatar Creates with veteran supermodel Naomi Campbell. The pair took part in a “beautiful” night tour at the Museum of Islamic Art.
Qatar Creates is a platform to showcase art and culture across the country and was established to showcase local culture to tourists, especially during the World Cup which the Gulf country will be hosting next month.
This is not the first time Hadid expresses her love for Palestine as she regularly celebrates her Palestinian heritage with her followers on Instagram and often uses the platform to shed light on Israel’s occupation of Palestinian land.
