Bella Hadid calls out Instagram for ‘shadow banning’ her Palestine-related stories
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- Palestinian-Dutch supermodel Bella Hadid called out Instagram yesterday for “shadow banning” her Palestine-related stories. The supermodel wrote on her Instagram Story to her 51 million followers, “My Instagram has disabled me from posting on my story — pretty much only when it is Palestine based I’m going to assume.” “When I post about Palestine I get immediately shadowbanned and almost 1 million less of you see my stories and posts.”

Following this story, Hadid posted a series of videos and pictures of the Israeli forces Friday raid of the Al-Aqsa mosque and assault of Palestinians. “These are the people you are shooting with rubber bullets,” Hadid’s stories read as she shared a video of a helpless family whose father was shot by Israeli forces. “This is a power trip and a disgusting form of abuse. During the holy month of Ramadan. How dare they.”

Hadid also posted a screenshot of what appeared to be an attempt to re-post a video of an Israeli soldier assaulting an elderly Palestinian man, which she captioned, "Won’t let me repost…for 2 hours now," with a crying emoji.

“Let's be reminded that this land is some of the most holy soil in the world. where Jesus was born. Where every religion has a place to call home. To pray. To be. To live. (not all safely as you can see) with mosques, synagogues, churches. but to do this to only one group, during prayer, on the holy month of ramadan, is just truly sick in the head,” Bella wrote on another story while sharing a video of the Israeli forces attacking Palestinian worshipers in the Al-Aqsa mosque. Pro-Palestine activists have previously complained about “shadow banning” whereby users’ posts are restricted and reach fewer people. Being shadow banned means that your exposure on a given social media platform has been restricted, and only you and your direct followers can see your posts. Hadid’s stories came hours after the Israeli occupation forces, earlier on Friday, broke into the al-Aqsa Mosque and brutally attacked the worshipers who gathered to perform the Al-Fajr prayer. The Palestinian Red Crescent said at least 153 Palestinian worshipers were injured during the Israeli forces’ morning assault. The forces fired rubber-coated metal bullets, stun grenades and tear gas canisters directly and intensively at the worshipers. They also severely beat them, including children, women, journalists and youths. https://twitter.com/qudsnen/status/1514862842612264960?s=21&t=j9DzRJfbkd0iCAKk_8dUSw https://twitter.com/qudsnen/status/1514859523164585987?s=21&t=j9DzRJfbkd0iCAKk_8dUSw https://twitter.com/qudsnen/status/1514855951035244545?s=21&t=j9DzRJfbkd0iCAKk_8dUSw https://twitter.com/qudsn/status/1514938533391536132?s=21&t=j9DzRJfbkd0iCAKk_8dUSw The forces also arrested about 400 Palestinians from the courtyards of the mosque since the morning assault, according to local sources. https://twitter.com/qudsnen/status/1514913594307137541?s=21&t=j9DzRJfbkd0iCAKk_8dUSw After nearly a 6-hour assault against the Palestinians, the Palestinians succeeded in reaching the holy site again and performing the Friday prayer. https://twitter.com/qudsnen/status/1514906627715080196?s=21&t=j9DzRJfbkd0iCAKk_8dUSw Overnight, thousands of Palestinian youths stayed at Al-Aqsa mosque amid calls by extremist Jewish groups to enter the compound on Friday to perform a Passover sacrifice, in violation of the status quo agreements on religious practice at the site.
