Bahraini Showaiter sweets: Our sweets are older than Israeli occupation of Palestine

Manama (QNN)- The Showaiter Sweets, a legendary popular and widely savored traditional Bahraini sweet, has stated that its sweets are older than the Israeli occupation of Palestine.
The sweets company’s remarks came in response to a video circulating on social media that shows a Bahraini man visited Avichay Adraee, the spokesperson of the Israeli occupation army, and gifted him some of the Showaiter sweets.
The Bahraini man visit to Adraee was during the latest Bahraini delegation’s visit to the 1948-occupied Palestine, last week, which aimed to develop the normalization ties between Bahrain and the Israeli occupation.

“The Showaiter sweets industry dates back over than 180 years, which is older than the Israeli occupation of Palestine,” said the sweets company in a statement, adding that the Showaiter family, the owner of the Sweets company, and Bahrain were, and still are, with Muslims’ first issue, Palestine.
“Our sweets will last while the occupation of Palestine will not,” it said.
The UAE was the first country to agree to normalize ties with the occupation state last year under the Abraham Accords, a pact brokered by the United States, a move that was followed by Bahrain, Morocco and Sudan.
Palestinians condemned the normalization agreements, saying they encouraged Israel’s denial of their rights and do not serve the Palestinian cause.
