Backlash after Adidas advert removed Bella Hadid due to Israeli smear campaign

Occupied Palestine (Quds News Network)- Social media users criticized the racist decision by Adidas to drop Palestinian-American supermodel Bella Hadid from an advertising campaign after Israel carried out a smear campaign.

The German-based sportswear company said it was “revising” its campaign after a smear campaign from Israel over Hadid’s involvement.

The sportswear company apologized for the “upset and distress” it caused for choosing the Palestinian-American model as the face of the SL72 trainers, described as a timeless classic.

The SL72 trainers were first designed for the 1972 Olympic games in Munich during which 11 Israeli athletes and a German policeman were killed in an operation by a Palestinian militant group.

Israel had launched a smear campaign following the launch of the trainers, connecting it to the deaths of Israelis during the games.

Social media users criticized the decision by Adidas and called it racist.
