Awqaf: Israeli authorities banned Adhan in Ibrahimi mosque 525 times in ten months

Occupied Hebron (QNN)- The Ministry of Awqaf and Religious Affairs on Monday said that the Israeli Authorities banned Adhan in the Ibrahimi mosque in occupied Hebron 525 times during the last ten months.

The ministry documented Israeli violations against the mosque and worshipers. The violations also included random searches, military flying checkpoints, Judaization, and raids, the latest of which was a raid by the Israeli President to celebrate Jewish holidays.

Israeli authorities also prevented the Hebron Reconstruction Committee from restoring parts of the Ibrahimi mosque and closed the mosque for additional five days using COVID 189 as a pretext.

They also allowed settlers to raid the mouse and dance inside while preventing worshipers repeatedly from entering.

The violations also include allowing settlers’ parties in the mosque, throwing tear gas bombs at worshipers, IOF raids, preventing workers in the mosque from reaching their jobs, and raising an Israeli flag on the mosque.

In the same vein, an Israeli court approved a plan to build a lift for settlers only in the Ibrahimi mosque. The occupation state also started digging operations in the courtyard of the mosque, which is declared by the UNESCO’s World Heritage Centre a Palestinian world heritage site.
