At least 81 Palestinian prisoners test positive for COVID-19 in Gilbo’a Prison

Jerusalm (QNN)- The Israeli prison authorities have closed the Gilbo’a prison today after 81 Palestinain prisoners tested positive for COVID-19.

Palestinian Committee for Prisoners and Ex-prisoners Affairs said in a statement today morning that 81 Palestinain prisoners in Gilbo’a prison tested positive for COVID-19, raising the number of Palestinians who contracted the virus inside Israeli prisons to 116.

The committee also said that Israeli prisons authorities have cancelled family visits, and it will move the infected to Tzalmon prison.

It also stated that the number is set to rise, saying that the deliberate procrastinations by the administration of prisons in providing the necessary preventive measures inside sections of prisons is the reason behind the spread of the virus.

It’s worth mentioning that a number of the prisoners, who are now infected, started to feel the virus symptoms last week, and they told the administration of prisons, but it neglected this deliberately.
