Maddox is the host and lead producer of Latitude Adjustment Podcast. He also founded the Palestine Podcast Academy, an initiative connecting Palestinians across Gaza, occupied Jerusalem, and the occupied West Bank to learn podcasting and independent media production. The project aims to give Palestinians the tools to tell their own stories, free from external influence.
Maddox holds a graduate degree in Conflict Transformation. He has lived and conducted research in Dheisheh refugee camp, collecting oral histories from the 1948 Nakba. He has also produced cross-cultural media projects across the Middle East, Latin America, and the Balkans.
His arrest has raised concern among journalists and press freedom advocates. It also comes shortly after a new BBC documentary by Louis Theroux, which exposed the violent behavior of Israeli settlers in the West Bank. Israeli officials condemned the documentary as antisemitic, while human rights groups said it simply showed reality on the ground.
Maddox was reportedly filming similar scenes of settler violence in Hebron when he was detained. A video footage shows him being savagely attacked by Israeli soldiers.
No official statement has been issued by Israeli authorities about his arrest.
