Alba Flores advocates for peace in Palestine at Goya Awards

Madrid (Quds News Network) – In a powerful moment at the Goya Awards held in the city of Valladolid, Spain, Spanish actress Alba Flores used her platform to call for peace in Palestine, joining other artists and actors in demanding an end to the ongoing Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip.

Best known for her role as Nairobi in the popular Spanish crime drama “La Casa de Papel” (Money Heist), Flores delivered a poignant plea for peace during the award ceremony. Before presenting the award for Best Original Song, she took the opportunity to make a heartfelt statement.

“Good night and peace for Palestine, please,” Flores declared in the auditorium, where the president of Spain, Pedro Sánchez, was present. The actress, donning a watermelon-shaped sticker with the word “Gaza” written in the middle, used the platform to draw attention to the dire situation in the region.

On the red carpet before the ceremony, Flores shared her sentiments with reporters, highlighting the challenges of celebrating amid the ongoing conflict. She expressed, “Because 30,000 people have already been killed in Gaza, sometimes it is hard to come to celebrate. It costs a lot.”
