Al-Qassam Brigades Reveal How They Fooled the Israeli Army During Body Retrieval Operations in Gaza

Gaza (QNN)- Al-Qassam Brigades, the military wing of Hamas resistance movement, released a new video on Wednesday titled “This Is the Real Scene.” It reveals how Palestinian fighters misled the Israeli army during operations to retrieve the bodies of Israeli soldier prisoners killed in Gaza.

The footage shows deceptive tactics used by Al-Qassam to prevent Israel from obtaining real information about the locations of the bodies. The resistance group said Israeli forces monitored the recovery process using drones, then added those sites to their target bank. Israel later bombed them during airstrikes that followed the ceasefire.

According to Al-Qassam, the Israeli army’s recently published video showing the retrieval of one body was part of a counter-deception operation staged by Hamas security units. The statement said the “enemy fell for the trap and tried to exploit the footage to distort the image of the resistance.”

Al-Qassam stressed that it applied “multiple deceptive methods” to mislead Israeli intelligence and conceal the real locations of the remains. The video concluded by stating, “The ethics of our resistance and the teachings of our faith in dealing with prisoners and the dead cannot be understood by Nazis and bloodsuckers.”

Earlier on Wednesday, Al-Qassam announced it would hand over the body of an Israeli soldier prisoner found in Gaza City’s Shuja’iyya neighborhood later in the evening.

Last Sunday, Hamas handed over the bodies of three Israeli soldier prisoners to the International Committee of the Red Cross. Among them was Colonel Asaf Hamami, the highest-ranking Israeli officer captured by Al-Qassam during the “Al-Aqsa Flood” operation on October 7, 2023.

Since the start of the ceasefire and prisoner exchange agreement on October 10, Hamas has released 20 Israeli soldier prisoners alive and returned the bodies of 21 others out of a total of 28. Israel, however, claimed earlier that one of the retrieved bodies did not match any of its missing soldiers.
