Al-Hindi to QNN: Chances of Reaching a Comprehensive Deal Higher Than Before

Beirut (Quds News Network)- Deputy Secretary-General of the Islamic Jihad Movement, Mohammad al-Hindi, spoke exclusively to Quds News Network about ongoing negotiations in Doha. He revealed that an Israeli delegation is currently in the Qatari capital to continue discussions from the past two weeks.

Al-Hindi stated that Israel has escalated its attacks on civilians and hospitals. He added that Israeli Defense Minister Israel Katz and other officials are using threats to escalate against civilians to pressure the resistance during talks.

The resistance, he noted, agreed to include 11 Israeli reservists in the prisoner exchange. However, he emphasized that these individuals, who are not sick or elderly, will only be included at a different price than the initial group.

Ending the aggression on Gaza, Al-Hindi stressed, is a fundamental demand of the resistance. He argued that no deal holds value if Israel resumes its crimes without accountability. The first phase of the exchange deal includes the return of displaced Palestinians, gradual withdrawal of Israeli forces, and the start of humanitarian aid.

From the outset, Al-Hindi explained, the resistance has been open to a comprehensive deal. “The enemy, however, chose a phased approach,” he said. He expressed optimism, stating that the chances of reaching a deal now are higher than before. Discussions have entered the technical stage, as Israel has failed to recover its prisoners through military force.

Al-Hindi also noted that Israeli public opinion strongly supports a deal, particularly as the inauguration of US President Donald Trump draws near.

On the West Bank, Al-Hindi criticized the Palestinian Authority (PA). He highlighted its aggressive actions, such as targeting Jenin refugee camp, arresting activists, and closing Al Jazeera’s offices. These actions, he said, reflect the PA’s internal anxiety.

“Everyone knows,” he added, “that neither Israel nor Trump’s administration will grant the PA control over the West Bank, no matter how many messages it sends.” He pointed to Israel’s on-ground implementation of its annexation plans and Trump’s continued support of such measures, including recognizing occupied Jerusalem as Israel’s capital.

Attempts to suppress resistance in the West Bank under misleading pretexts, Al-Hindi warned, only ease Israel’s path to completing its annexation project. If these efforts fail, they will lead to more US and Israeli pressure on the PA. He stressed that internal disputes and the PA’s actions ultimately benefit the occupation.

Al-Hindi urged national dialogue, the lifting of the siege on Jenin, and serious engagement with national initiatives. He emphasized that unity is essential to confronting Israeli and US schemes against Palestinian rights.
