After over a year of suspension… QNN recovers main Twitter accounts

Ramallah (QNN)- After over a year and a half of suspension, Quds News Network recovered all of its main accounts on Twitter.

Twitter had told the Network that the suspensions “were not correct” and that’s why the accounts have been recovered after over a year and a half of continuous efforts.

QNN had continued to cover events through its backup accounts after suspending the main accounts.

The network has been targeted on different social media platforms. Its Tik Tok account has been recently suspended for several days before being recovered because it did not violate the application’s terms of service.

QNN administration stressed that Twitter has ignored all its requests to recover the accounts throughout the last year and a half. Several rights organizations, like Sada Social and Access Now, had requested to recover the network’s accounts.

In July 2020, QNN had a closed meeting with Twitter’s public policy department. Twitter promised to revisit the issue, however, it continued to stall.

QNN thanked all sides that worked hard, demanding to recover the accounts.

In November 2019, all QNN’s blue-checked Twitter accounts were suspended without any prior notice and without explanation. The suspension was part of the vicious attack on the Palestinian content on the internet.

Sada Social Center, a group specialized in monitoring violations against the Palestinian content on social media, said that Facebook has been blocking posts, photos, and live videos of dozens of activists. The center revealed that Facebook created an algorithm, which immediately removes any posts that contains any of the terms “Hamas, Jihad, martyr, Qassam, Saraya”, in addition to other words.

A report by Impact International has revealed that the occupation state has been using its connections at Facebook to fight the Palestinian content on social media.
