After one month in office, Biden and Netanyahu have their first phone call
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- After nearly a month in office, US President Joe Biden and Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu have had their first phone call on Wednesday, Israeli media cited Netanyahu’s office.
The Israeli post said Netanyahu was the first in the Middle East to get a call from Biden.
Netanyahu’s office described the call as “warm and friendly” and said it lasted for nearly an hour.
“The two leaders noted their personal ties of many years and said they will work together to continue bolstering the strong alliance between Israel and the US,” Netanyahu’s office wrote.
The Jerusalem Post said Netanyahu and Biden discussed continuing to promote normalization in the region, the Iranian threat and regional challenges.
The White House had not released a statement regarding the call yet.
Experts said the unusual delay in the call between Biden and the Israeli leader is a calculated effort to demonstrate that there will be no return to the Israel-centric policies of the Donald Trump years.
