After 90 days of hunger strike, ‘Israel’ renews administrative detention of Maher Al Akhras

Ramallah (QNN)- The Israeli authorities decided on Friday to renew the administrative detention of Maher Al Akhras, who has been on a hunger strike for 90 days so far and is in critical condition.
Ahlam Haddad, the lawyer of Al Akhra, said the Israeli Kaplan hospital decided to stop providing medical care for Al Akhras because he continues to go on a hunger strike and does not cooperate with the medical team. Being visited by a lot of people endangers his life, claimed the hospital.
Haddad added that following the court’s rule, the Shin Bet and military court decided to renew Al Akhras’ administrative detention and send him to Ar Ramlah hospital.
Al Akhras has started an open hunger strike last July in protest against his administrative detention without any charges or trials.
Last September, the Israeli supreme court ruled to freeze his detention in an Israeli trial to end his strike without ending his unlawful detention.
Maher Al Akhras (49 years old) is married and a father of two children, who repeatedly appeared calling on international organizations to save their father’s life.
