After 49 days, Lu’ai Al Ashqar suspends hunger strike after Israelis determined his release time

Ramallah (QNN)- Lu’ai Al Ashqar (45 years old) has suspended his hunger strike today after Israeli authorities determined his release time.

The Prisoners’ Association cited Al Ashqar’s family, who doubled on the reports.

The Israeli Prison Service (IPS) has subjected Al Ashqar to torture aiming at ending his hunger strike.

The father of eight children was arrested in October 2021 under administrative detention without charges or trial. He had already lost eight years of his life in Israeli prisons intermittently.

During an interrogation by Israeli military interrogators in 2005, he was tortured until he became paralyzed in his left leg.

Also, His brother, Muhammad Al Ashqar, was killed in the Negev desert prison in 2007.

Other detainees have recently ended their hunger strike after winning their fight for freedom, including Kayed Al Fasfous (who spent 131 days on hunger strike), and Miqdad Qawasmeh (who spent 113 days on hunger strike).
