Hamas described Africa’s stance as a continuation of its long struggle against colonialism and oppression.

Addis Ababa (Quds News Network)- Hamas welcomed the African Union’s strong stance against Israel’s genocide in Gaza. In a statement, the Palestinian resistance group praised the final declaration of the African Union summit, which condemned Israel’s genocide and called for its international prosecution.
The African Union summit, held in Addis Ababa, urged member states to cut all ties with Israel until it ends its occupation and aggression. The leaders stated that Israel is committing genocide against the Palestinian people and violating international law. They also called for an immediate end to the humanitarian crisis in Gaza and the lifting of the blockade.
The summit reaffirmed full support for Palestine’s bid for full United Nations membership. It also demanded the immediate release of Palestinian detainees, especially women and children.
Hamas described Africa’s stance as a continuation of its long struggle against colonialism and oppression. It urged African nations to translate their words into actions by increasing political and legal pressure on Israel. Hamas also called for stronger Palestinian advocacy in international forums and more support for Palestinian resilience.
“This firm position strengthens our people’s resistance against Israeli crimes,” Hamas said. “It also sends a clear message to the international community to take responsibility and hold Israel accountable.”
The summit reaffirmed the African Union’s commitment to a two-state solution as the only path to lasting peace.
In addition to addressing the Palestinian issue, the summit discussed humanitarian efforts in Sudan and the Democratic Republic of the Congo. It urged member states to support relief efforts and promote social and economic integration across Africa.
