African Summit’s final declaration deems all Israeli settlements illegal

Adis Ababa (QNN)- The final declaration of the 34th African Summit called for finding a just political solution for the Palestinian cause, depending on international law. It also deemed all Israeli settlements illegal.

The final declaration of the summit, which was organized online and continued for two days, stressed the necessity of ending all forms of relations with the occupation state.

The African leaders condemned the Israeli racist laws and policies against the Palestinian people. It also rejected the Israeli arbitrary practices against Palestinian prisoners, especially women, children, and elderlies, who are being deprived of their basic human rights.

The declaration called on the occupation state to immediately release all Palestinian and Arab prisoners.

In the same vein, Hamas welcomed the declaration and said it reflects the AU’s “historical” support for the Palestinian cause.

The Africa Union 34th ordinary summit kicked off virtually on Saturday in the Ethiopian capital Addis Ababa focusing on joint African efforts to combat the outbreak of the novel coronavirus pandemic.
