Activists call PA to rescue Palestinian citizen arrested in Saudi Arabia for 80 days so far with no charges
Tulkarem (QNN)- Saudi Arabia has been detaining Palestinian citizen, Bakr Husari, for over 80 days so far without any charges.
Husari was detained while he was leaving Saudi for a vacation in Jordan with his wife. Husari’s mother told QNN that there are no details on her son’s condition, who is detained at the Ha’il jail. She could make few calls with the prison but they refused to allow her talk to her son.
The mother confirmed that the prison administration stated in phone calls that her son is in the jail. They also promised her to ask the management to allow her have a phone call with her son but nothing of that has happened. The mother confirmed that she and her family do not know any further details on him.
“The company, in which he works as head of marketing, stated that his record is clean and that there are no charges on him”, she added. “He has been detained for over 80 days so far without providing any real reasons”.
The mother also said that she called the Palestinian ambassador in Riyadh, who in his turn promised to revisit and get further details on Husari’s issue, however he is not is Saudi Arabia currently.
Husari’s mother confirmed that her son has no connection to any political activities and he has a legal contract with a company. His father, however, has been arrested by Israeli authorities for four months. She also stated that her family did not know about Palestinian prisoners in Saudi Arabia until they arrested her son.
Husari’s mother urged Saudi authorities to release her son since he did not commit any violation and he works there legally. She also called on the Palestinian Authority to intervene and rescue her son.
