Abu Ubaida reveals new orders issued to guards on handling prisoners if Israeli army approaches

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Hamas spokesperson, Abu Ubaida, has stated that the Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and the Israeli military bear full responsibility for the deaths of Israeli prisoners held in Gaza. He stated that Netanyahu deliberately stalled any potential prisoner exchange deals for narrow political interests, resulting in the deaths of numerous prisoners due to direct airstrikes.

In a series of statements released on Telegram, Abu Ubaida stressed, “Netanyahu and the Israeli military are solely accountable for the deaths of the prisoners. Their refusal to engage in prisoner exchange agreements has led to the intentional killing of dozens of prisoners through direct aerial bombardments.”

New Orders Following Al-Nuseirat Incident

Following the attack on Al-Nuseirat, Abu Ubaida disclosed that new instructions had been issued to the Hamas fighters responsible for guarding the prisoners. These directives dictate how to handle the prisoners if Israeli forces approach their location. Abu Ubaida issued a stark warning: “Netanyahu’s insistence on freeing prisoners through military pressure rather than negotiating a deal will result in them returning to their families in coffins. Their families will have to choose between having them return alive or as corpses.”

The official Hamas Telegram channel, Al-Qassam Brigades, also published an image showing a representation of prisoners with a resistance fighter standing behind them, ready to shoot. This visual serves as a grim warning of the potential consequences of continued military operations by Israel.

Rising Internal Pressure on the Israeli Government

Tensions have surged within Israel, especially after the Israeli military announced on Sunday that it had found the bodies of six Israeli prisoners in Rafah. The discovery, made during a routine search and not through prior intelligence, has sparked outrage and increased calls for action against the Netanyahu government. For the first time since the onset of the genocide, there are growing calls within Israel for civil disobedience and a general strike to demand a prisoner exchange deal.

Israeli newspaper Yedioth Ahronoth reported that three of the recovered bodies were among those listed in a deal Hamas had proposed back in early July. According to the report, these captives could have been returned alive if Netanyahu had agreed to the exchange at that time.
