Abu Ubaida: Netanyahu Plans to Cut Number of Living Soldier Prisoners in Half
Gaza (Quds News Network)- Hamas spokesperson Abu Ubaida stated that Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and his ministers are making a deliberate decision to reduce the number of Israeli soldier prisoners alive by half. He said Israel wants most of the bodies of its dead prisoners to “disappear forever.” Abu Ubaida stressed that Hamas fighters will protect soldier prisoners “as much as possible.” He said they will remain with resistance fighters “in the same conditions of risk and survival.” Hamas also vowed to announce the name, image, and proof of death for any soldier prisoner killed in Israeli strikes. The statement underlined that Israeli soldier prisoners are being kept in active combat zones, under the same dangers as any Gazan. Abu Ubaida said this was a direct result of Israel’s war choices. He added that the Israeli army and government will bear full responsibility for the fate of the Israeli soldier prisoners. For more than two weeks, Israel has expanded its ground and air offensive on Gaza City. Tanks, artillery, and drones have wiped out entire neighborhoods. Over one million Palestinians remain trapped inside the city, unable to find safe refuge as strikes follow them during attempts to flee. The Trump administration continues to back Israel’s genocide. Washington has blocked international measures against Israel and provides full political cover. Asked about reports that Netanyahu aims to occupy all Palestinian territory, Trump said “That’s going to be pretty much up to Israel.”
