About 6000 Palestinians arrested by Israeli forces since start of 2022, says watchdog

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- About 6000 Palestinians have been arrested by Israeli occupation forces since the start of the year, including 739 minors and 141 women.

In a Thursday statement, the Palestinian Prisoner’s Society (PPS) confirmed that Israeli occupation forces have arrested around 6000 Palestinians, including 739 minors and 141 women.

The highest number of arrests was recorded in the occupied city of Jerusalem with about 2700 arrest operations.

The PPS noted that 2022 witnessed severe abuse against Palestinians detainees and their families when it is compared with the past few years, including the ongoing extrajudicial field executions and the increase in the number of injured detainees who were arrested directly after being shot or after a period of time.

The occupation authorities have also issued 1829 administrative detention orders against Palestinians so far this year, the PPS added, stressing that the administrative detentions in 2022 were the most serious when compared to the last few years; the highest of which was recorded in August with 272 new administrative orders and their number reached more than 820 detainees by the end of October.
