“A Body Was Found Torn Apart”: Gaza Civil Defense Says Israel Blocks Search for Missing Rescuers in Rafah

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Gaza’s Civil Defense teams stated that they have been waiting for Israeli approval to enter the Barracks area in western Rafah’s Tel al-Sultan district. They seek to resume the search for colleagues missing since last Sunday.
Civil Defense workers who reached the site yesterday were devastated by what they found. They discovered the remains of their missing colleague, Officer Anwar Abdel Hamid Al-Attar, torn apart. Ambulances, fire trucks, and Palestinian Red Crescent vehicles were reduced to mangled wreckage, stared the Civil Defense.
Search teams found shredded safety gear that their missing colleagues had been wearing. Officials believe Israeli forces directly targeted the rescue team during their incursion. Heavy machinery was used to alter the site and conceal some bodies.
Five Civil Defense personnel remain unaccounted for in the area; Zoheir Abdel Hamid Al-Farra (Fire truck driver), Samir Yahya Al-Bahabsa (Fire officer), Ibrahim Nabil Al-Maghari (Fire officer), Fouad Ibrahim Al-Jammal (Ambulance driver), and Youssef Rasem Khalifa (Paramedic.)
Gaza’s Civil Defense has urged international organizations to pressure Israel into allowing search teams to recover the missing.
