Unmasking Israel’s Map: Israel’s “Safe Zones” in Gaza Are Dumps, Ruins, and Military Sites

Gaza (Quds News Network)- Israel claims that “empty areas” in central and southern Gaza can host more than one million displaced Palestinians forced to flee from Gaza city under fire. Reports from the ground tell a different story.

Many of the sites Israel points to are not safe zones. Some are garbage dumps. Others are destroyed neighborhoods filled with rubble. Certain areas are bulldozed and overturned lands exposed to constant fire. Residents say tanks and quadcopters shoot daily, while snipers and armored vehicles are stationed nearby. A woman was recently killed by quadcopter fire inside her tent in a displacement camp.

No Room Left in Deir al-Balah

Mayor of Deir al-Balah, Nizar Ayash, said his city cannot receive any more displaced people.

“There is not a single spot left for new tents,” he stressed.

He explained that the coast is overcrowded, the east is a red zone under bombardment, and infrastructure is collapsing. The desalination plant barely works. He warned that the central governorate faces a humanitarian catastrophe if more people are forced in.

Gaza Authorities Comment

The Government Media Office in Gaza accused Israel of spreading false claims about “vast empty lands.” It said more than 1.25 million displaced Palestinians already crowd into central and southern Gaza.

Officials stressed that the areas Israel highlighted, such as Al-Mawasi and parts of the central camps, are too limited and unequipped to host massive numbers. They warned that further displacement will bring more hunger, disease, and suffering.

The office called Israel’s forced transfer of civilians a war crime and a crime against humanity under international law.
