Trump Halts Sanctions Relief for Iran, Threatens Possible New Strikes

Washington (Quds News Network)- US President Donald Trump announced an immediate halt to sanctions relief efforts for Iran. His decision came in response to a statement from Iran’s Supreme Leader, Ali Khamenei, who asserted victory over Israel in the recent war.
Trump, speaking at a press conference, accused Khamenei of lying.
“He knows they didn’t win anything,” Trump said. “He got beat to hell. And Israel got hit, too. They both got the hate out.”
Trump threatened that the US could bomb Iran again if it resumes uranium enrichment. He said he wasn’t worried about hidden nuclear sites. “The only thing Iranians are thinking about today is their nuclear program,” he stated.
The president urged Iran to rejoin the global order, or face worsening consequences.
“I saved the Ayatollah from a brutal death,” Trump claimed. “He should say, ‘Thank you, President Trump.’”
Earlier in the day, Khamenei delivered his first speech since the end of the 12-day war between Iran and Israel. He declared that Iran defeated the “false Zionist entity” and delivered a “harsh slap” to the United States.
Khamenei stated that America entered the war to prevent Israel’s complete destruction, but failed to achieve its goals. He mocked Trump’s reaction to the war, calling it an exaggerated show for political gain.
“Yes, the US bombed nuclear sites,” Khamenei said, “but it didn’t gain much.” He warned that any future attacks on Iran would bring retaliation against US military bases.
He rejected Trump’s demand for “unconditional surrender.”
“Iran, with its deep history and culture, will never accept such language,” he declared.
On June 13, Israel, with US support, launched a 12-day assault on Iran, targeting military, nuclear, and civilian sites. The attacks killed 606 people and wounded over 5,000, according to Iran’s Health Ministry.
Iran responded with ballistic missiles and drones, many of which bypassed Israel’s air defenses. The counterattack caused 28 deaths among colonial settlers and injured over 3,000, according to the Israeli government, which is known for downplaying its losses.
The war marked the most dangerous direct conflict between the two sides.
