Gaza (Quds News Network)- Hamas resistance movement announced it has released Israeli-American soldier Edan Alexander. Al-Qassam Brigades have confirmed the move after important communications with the U.S. administration.
Hamas said the release came as part of ongoing efforts by mediators to reach a ceasefire, open Gaza’s crossings, and allow humanitarian aid into the besieged territory.
The resistance movement described its step as a gesture of “positivity and high flexibility.” It urged the U.S. and other international actors to build on the moment to secure a full agreement.
Hamas stated that serious and responsible negotiations have already produced results. It warned, however, that continued Israeli attacks will only worsen the suffering of Israeli prisoners and could cost them their lives.
The group reaffirmed its readiness to begin immediate talks toward a comprehensive ceasefire. It demanded a complete Israeli military withdrawal from Gaza, an end to the blockade, a prisoner exchange, and full reconstruction of the besieged strip.
Hamas called on U.S. President Donald Trump’s administration to intensify efforts to stop “the brutal war led by war criminal Netanyahu against children, women, and unarmed civilians in Gaza.”
The release of Alexander marks a rare breakthrough after more than seven months of genocide. The dead was only reached after excluding Israel from the discussions.
