For the first time in years, ‘Israel’ approves construction of new settlement near Gaza

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu announced Sunday that a new settlement will be constructed near the Gaza strip.

During the weekly meeting of his government, Netanyahu said the new settlement will be constructed in ‘Sha’ar HaNegev’ settlement complex, which was built on the ruins of displaced Palestinian villages.

The decision is the first in years, as the occupation state avoids construction in the area adjacent to the Gaza strip in fear of the resistance’s missiles, which occasionally strike close settlements in retaliation for Israeli strikes on the besieged strip.

The Palestinian resistance has targeted close settlements, as well as Tel Aviv, several times, amid Israeli complaints about their failure to prevent the resistance’s missiles.
