80-year-old prisoner says he can no longer bear up harsh detention conditions

Occupied Palestine (QNN)- An 80-year-old Palestinian prisoner said that he can no longer bear up the very harsh conditions in the Israeli jails.

Fu’ad Shobaki told a lawyer for the committee of Palestinian Prisoner’s Affairs that he has been going through very rough days during the last two weeks as he had a surgery in his eye, which made him dependent on other prisoners to do his daily work.

On November 20, an Israeli court had rejected a request to reconsider releasing Shobaki claiming that he is “dangerous and did not show regret”.

Fu’ad Shobaki from Gaza is the eldest Palestinian prisoner in Israeli jails. He was arrested in 2006 and sentenced to 17 years in jail despite suffering from cancer and other problems in his heart and eyes.
