6 Israeli violations against journalists in August
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The occupation state has committed six violations against journalists in Palestine last August, reported Wafa.
The occupation state continued its systematic policy against journalists, aiming at preventing them from conveying the truth and covering the Israeli terrorism against native Palestinians.
According to Wafa, two journalists have been wounded in direct assaults, while four others were targeted in arrests and shootings.
Israeli authorities prevented the wife of the head of Al Wihdah radio, Nidal Abu Iker, from visiting him in jail. Abu Iker had been arrested at the beginning of August under administrative detention.
Israeli forces also arrested journalist Mustafa Abu Romouz from occupied Jerusalem while he was on duty at Al Aqsa mosque and prevented him from entering the holy mosque for six months.
In the 15th of August, Israeli forces targeted the correspondent of Iran’s official TV using tear gas while he was covering a protest in eastern Gaza.
Less than a week later, the correspondent of Aswar Press, Mai Farhan, suffocated after being targeted with a tear gas canister while she was covering a peaceful anti-settlement protest in Shufa, Tulkarm.
the next day, an Israeli settler prevented Mashhour Hassan Wahwah, a photojournalist for Wafa, from covering an anti-settlement protest in Masafer Yatta in southern Hebron.
