BREAKING| Palestinian youth shot dead by Israeli forces in Jenin
Jenin (QNN)- Israeli occupation forces shot and killed a Palestinian youth during a military raid into the town of Jaba’a town, south of the occupied West Bank city of Jenin on Wednesday morning.
The Palestinian Health Ministry confirmed that 20-year-old Rafic Riad Ghannam was shot by Israeli gunfire at dawn on Wednesday during a military raid into the town of Jaba’a.
Ghannam was reportedly arrested by the Israeli occupation forces in a critical condition before he was announced dead of his wounds while in Israeli custody.
Local sources reported that an Israeli special forces unit raided the Jenin refugee camp at dawn, and cornered off a Palestinian house amid shooting heavy fire.
The forces injured at least three Palestinians, including Ghannam, and ex-detainee in Israeli prisons Ameed Al-Ersan who was brutally arrested in the fierce military raid, and the third succeeded in escaping from the occupation after being injured.

The West Bank city of Jenin has been the centre of Israeli aggressions and military operations since the few past months, as 29 Palestinians have been killed by Israeli forces since the start of this year in Jenin alone, including Al Jazeera’s veteran journalist Shireen Abu Akleh, according to the Palestinian Health Ministry.
On June 17, three Palestinian youths were all assassinated by Israeli forces during a military operation in the eastern neighbourhood of the Jenin refugee camp. Yousef Salah, 23, Bara Lahlouh, 24, and Laith Abu Srour, 24, all from Jenin, were killed when about 30 Israeli military vehicles raided Jenin at 2am local time, surrounded a vehicle in al-Marah area in the east of the city, and opened heavy fire at the three youths sitting inside.
On July 3, 18-year-old Kamel Alawneh succumbed to injuries he sustained in the belly and right arm by the Israeli occupation gunfire during confrontations in the Jaba’a town where Ghannam was also killed. The slain Palestinian was named after his brother Kamel who was also shot dead by the Israeli occupation forces in 2003 at the age of 18.
