PA committed 265 violations against Palestinians in January, says report
Occupied Palestine (QNN)- The Palestinian Authority (PA) committed 265 violations against Palestinians during the month of January in the occupied West Bank.
The Committee of Families of Political Detainees said on Friday that the PA had escalated its aggression on Palestinians in January, revealing that it committed 265 violations against them.
While noting that, “this ushers in another year of crackdown, police terrorism and political detention,” the Committee found that the PA had detained 80 Palestinians, summoned 28, assaulted and beaten nine, and raided 27 houses.
The PA also suppressed freedoms 16 times and tortured five prisoners, causing major deterioration of their health.
It also revealed that the PA confiscated the property of two Palestinians, turned 55 to arbitrary prosecution, chased 25 over their participation in protests and carried out security cooperation with the Israeli occupation authorities in 18 separate events.
According to the report, the West Bank city of Nablus had the highest number of the violations (85) carried out by PA security agencies, followed by Ramallah (80).
In its annual report issued in January, the Committee revealed that the PA committed 2,578 violations against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank during the year of 2021, saying that year should be called “the black year of the PA’s suppression of freedoms of Palestinian people.”
