To be demolished, large numbers of Israeli soldiers raid house of Palestinian martyr in Jerusalem
Occupied Jerusalem (QNN)- Large numbers of Israeli occupation soldiers on Tuesday morning stormed Shuafat neighborhood in occupied Jerusalem and cordoned off house of Palestinian martyr, Fadi Abu Shukhedem, who was shot dead last year by Israeli forces over alleged shooting attempt, in preparation for its demolition.
Local sources said over 150 Israeli occupation soldiers have stormed the Shuafat neighborhood, cordoned off Abu Shukhedem’s house, before closing its entrances and destroying its contents, as a prelude for its demolition.

In December 2021, the Israeli occupation authorities ordered the house of the family of Fadi Abu Shukhedem to be demolished as a part of its use of the unfair collective punishment against Palestinians.
His family also appealed the decision in court, but their requests were rejected.
Earlier that month, the Israeli forces stormed the house of Abu Shukhedem and took measures in preparation for demolishing it.
42-year-old Sheikh Fadi Abu Shukhedem is from Shuafat neighbourhood in the occupied city of Jerusalem. He was shot dead by Israeli forces in November 2021, for carrying out a shooting operation against Israeli soldiers amid ongoing Israeli attacks against Palestinians, killing one Israeli soldier and injuring four others.
He is a husband, father of five: two girls and three boys. He holds a master’s degree in Islamic law and works as a teacher at Al-Rashidiya School in Jerusalem. He was also preparing for the PhD as his family said.
Abu Shukhedem was also imprisoned before by Israeli occupation authorities.
Although he is their breadwinner and backbone, his family felt the victory which their father achieved by defeating the occupation, as his operation was in response to Israel’s continuous attacks against Palestinians, especially in Jerusalem.
“You were everything to me. You lived like a lion, and died like a lion,” wrote his son, Abood, on his Facebook account, following the killing of his father.
The Israeli occupation state has used house demolition as a collective punitive measure against the families of Palestinians, who carry out resistance operations.
Hundreds of houses have been demolished within this policy since 1967, leaving thousands of Palestinians homeless despite they had done no wrong and were not suspected of any wrongdoing.
This policy constitutes collective punishment, which is prohibited and violates binding provisions of international law: in the Geneva Convention (“No protected person may be punished for an offence he or she has not personally committed. Collective penalties and likewise all measures of intimidation or of terrorism are prohibited. Pillage is prohibited. Reprisals against protected persons and their property are prohibited”).
