3 Israelis killed in West Bank operation amid surge in Israeli assaults against Palestinians

West Bank (Quds News Network)- Three Israeli policemen were killed on Sunday in a shooting operation at a checkpoint in the occupied West Bank city of Hebron amid a surge in Israeli assaults against Palestinians in the West Bank and Gaza Strip.

Israeli National Emergency Service Magen David Adom said on Sunday that three policemen were killed in the operation near the Tarqumiyah checkpoint, south of Hebron.

Israeli media reported that the three were policemen working at the Hebron station, claiming they were shot at by a Palestinian car driving past.

The Israeli army said it was conducting a raid on the Palestinian village of Idhna close to the scene of the operation.

Following the operation, Israeli forces have closed off all roads leading in and out of the southern city while drones have been hovering above it.

Local sources reported that six people, including three women, have been arrested in the Hebron area while raids have taken place in nearby Yatta and Halhul.

The shooting operation took place amid a spike in Israeli assaults against Palestinians in the occupied West Bank and Gaza as the Israeli forces continued its deadly assault on Jenin for a fifth consecutive day, killing at least 24 Palestinians.

Since the start of the Israeli genocide war on Gaza on October 7, Israel has killed more than 500 people in the West Bank. More than 40,000 Palestinians have been killed in Gaza in the past 11 months.
